Hi, I’m Karen, the creator behind Cruise & Career Creations, based in Columbus, Ohio 👋 As a full-time semi-truck driver, I truly value my time off. When I vacation, I want something simple, relaxing, and stress-free — which is why I fell in love with cruising 🛳️ During one of my cruises, I found myself constantly reaching for my cruise card and digging through my pockets. I also wasn’t a fan of the standard plastic holders — they weren’t convenient, and they didn’t feel like me. I wanted something easier, more functional, and a little more stylish.
So I created my own solution.
I designed a piece that clips right onto my crossbody bag, making it easy to grab and tap my card without the hassle. It was simple, practical, and perfect for cruising. Before my trip, I made a few extras to give away — and quickly realized I had created something people truly loved. What started as a personal solution turned into something much bigger through word of mouth and customer requests.
Today, I proudly create handmade lanyards, badge reels, and accessories for customers all across the United States. While this is a small business I run alongside my full-time career, it is truly a passion of mine. Every piece is made with care, creativity, and attention to detail. What means the most to me is not just the product itself, but the happiness it brings. Hearing from customers who love their items and are excited to use them is the most rewarding part of what I do.
